Democratic Party election in Michigan and Kansas

The Democratic Party won the governor elections in Michigan and Kansas on Tuesday, voting for Republican President Trump in the 2016 presidential election, but lost by a narrow margin in the fierce Florida governor election.
But in Ohio, Republican Mike DeWine is expected to defeat Democratic Richard Cordray, according to NBC News. The governor's election is one of the most watched elections.
Although the main focus of the election is on which party will win control of Congress, Republicans and Democrats are also competing for state leadership, including 36 state governor elections.
In Michigan, the Democratic candidate Gretchen Whitmer defeated the Republican candidate Bill Schuette to replace Rick Snyder, the current Republican governor. In Kansas, Democratic candidate Laura Kelly defeated Trump's loyal ally Kris Kobach, replacing outgoing Republican governor Sam Brown back.
In Georgia, Democrat candidate Stacey Abrams is actively competing against Republican candidate Brian Kemp to become the first black female governor in the United States. As of 0400GMT, the results have not yet been released.
